Company Derashinera presents works through its unique direction based on mime. “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a 65-minute silent play, performed not only in theaters but also in numerous elementary and middle schools. Drawing on the familiar Andersen fairy tale, the company weaves a world through the texture and rhythm of movement. This physical storytelling has been highly praised as a work that audiences of all generations can enjoy together.
The play explores what is unseen yet present, what is visible yet absent, the true value of things, and human weakness and folly. It is a story about the eyes of truth in an ordinary town that could exist anywhere.
